I had an eye opening conversation with a friend who is a high school football coach,. He was fervently expressing his dismay that Student Athletes often practiced and competed in games hungry. It was at that moment the decision was made to create Scholastic Sports Nutrition. An organization to fill a necessary community service void for all Student Athletes.
"As former Assistant Dir. Community OutReach and Director of Sponsorship for Tree House Cares and working with many community service organizations and food pantries, I never thought to take into consideration the food challenges that many low income households' Student Athletes face daily.
At Scholastic Sports Nutrition we are building a team of coaches, parents, and health care professionals. That not only share our convictions, but also our commitment to increasing access to healthy food products and dietary education for every Student Athlete.
"I’m competitive and driven by habit and I have the tools and connections to see this through.”
